One of the things I adore about photography is the many genres that exist. Landscape, weddings, products, photo journalism, architectural, real estate… the list is endless. I consider myself a portrait specialist – I am passionate about photographing high school seniors, families, fine art women’s portraiture and equestrian. So when the opportunity came up for me to photograph a high school senior with her horse in a fine art style… DUDE! I was thrilled! If I could do these sessions all day long, I would. And I mean, how stunning are these two?! Jaydn and her young horse, Marty, made incredible models.
Ponies, Dresses and Flower Crowns?! Oh YES!
We played around with a few hand-made flower crowns and elegant gowns from my style closet. The burgundy flower crown with a layered deep red dress looked stunning against Marty’s grey coat. Jaydn changed into a boho style cream dress with the light pink flower crown as we moved to the indoor arena to get some classic and timeless black background images. We had such a blast! Though she might look serious and very ‘Vanity Fair’ in the final images, there were certainly goofy moments!
After we played dress up with the gorgeous gowns, Jaydn dressed down in to more appropriate barn attire so we could get a few casual images. Marty was a super star and behaved like a mature gentleman the entire session.
