It’s About More Than Just ‘Photos’…

Hey there! I’m Carrie, and I’m so excited to share a bit of my journey with you. Photography isn’t just about snapping pictures for me—it’s about connecting with people on a deeper level and capturing the essence of who they are.

My background is a bit unconventional for a professional photographer. With two degrees in psychology along with a certification in leadership coaching, I’ve spent years delving into what makes people tick and how to bring out the best in them. My corporate career focused on the ‘happy side’ of HR, where I made it my mission to ensure that every individual felt valued, empowered, and positive about their work experiences.

Despite my corporate background, my heart always belonged to photography. Growing up with a darkroom in my house, it was a lifelong hobby that I couldn’t let go. When I finally took the leap from the corporate world to become a Boise portrait photographer, I saw the opportunity to merge my passion for capturing moments with my dedication to uplifting others.

When you step in front of my camera, it’s not merely about a great shot; it’s about feeling radiant and confident in your own skin. Empathy is the foundation of my work. I understand the nerves that come with being photographed, so creating a safe and comfortable environment is my top priority. From our initial consultation to the delivery of your images, I’m here to listen, understand, and address any concerns you may have. Your story matters to me.

During our portrait photography session (whether it be family portraits, senior portraits, or fine art portraits), my goal is to make you feel seen, heard and celebrated. Guiding you through poses and expressions with patience and encouragement, I ensure that your unique personality shines through in every shot.

Yet, for me, portrait photography is more than the final images; it’s about the entire experience. From the moment you book a session to the excitement of seeing your photographs for the first time, I want every interaction to be personal, empowering, and effortless.

When clients express sentiments like “Every day should be senior picture day!” it warms my heart. That’s the feeling I strive to create for each of you—pure joy and upliftment that lasts long after the session ends.

In a world flooded with images, I aim to stand out by crafting meaningful experiences that leave a lasting impression. If you’re ready to step in front of my lens, I’d be honored to capture your story.
