I care about creating portraits that don’t just live on a screen and get forgotten, but are actually seen, held, and enjoyed in your home. In a world that moves fast, I believe there’s real value in slowing things down and being intentional. From planning your session to helping you decide how your images will live in your space, I guide you through the entire process so nothing feels rushed or overwhelming. The goal is simple: to create artwork that feels personal and meaningful — something you’ll still love years from now.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me at the barn, out hiking with my dog, fostering kittens, or dreaming about a future farmhouse with a barn out back.
If you value quality, connection, and images that feel like you, you’re in the right place.
I guide you through the process from start to finish, so you don’t have to worry about the details or what comes next. The experience is relaxed and thoughtful, with the end result being artwork that feels lasting and meaningful.
I’m Carrie — a Boise-based photographer with a deep appreciation for meaningful moments and artwork that actually gets enjoyed, not tucked away on a hard drive.
I’ve always believed that photographs matter more when you see them every day. That belief guides everything I do, from how sessions are planned to how images ultimately live in your home. The goal is never just pretty photos, but artwork that feels personal and holds meaning over time.
Before photography became my full-time work, I studied psychology and spent years in corporate HR and leadership coaching. That background shapes how I work with people now — calmly, intuitively, and with intention. Whether I’m photographing a senior stepping into a new season, a horse-and-rider partnership built over years, or a fine art studio portrait, my focus is always the same: helping you feel comfortable, confident, and truly seen.
I’m fully obsessed with the San Francisco 49ers — especially George Kittle. I even named our rescue cat George Kitty. Yes, I know. Total dork.
If you are looking for me, I'll be at the barn. Riding, grooming, and hanging out with barn friends — probably longer than planned. The 'barn vortex' is real - horse girls know what I am talking about. My mare, Fontana, is an absolute cuddlebug and makes it very hard to leave.
That’s a tough one. With a husband who owns one of the best restaurants in Boise (I may be biased), I should have a better answer… but Trader Joe’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups are hard to beat.
Even though I am originally from San Francisco, I left my heart in South Africa. I lived there for 12 years; both of my children were born there. There is no place on earth like Cape Town. I miss it every single day.
